Rinus Michels is considered one of the greatest soccer managers of all time, and he was a major proponent of street soccer. Why? At Far Post, we have always believed that “the game is the best teacher.” We have also believed that “soccer is a game of 1,000 mistakes.” When kids play in the “streets,” they are allowed to take more responsibility for their own performance, they naturally discover their innate competitive spirit, they don’t have people screaming orders at them from the sidelines and they are able to experience the game for themselves.
